A Dream in which the executives at GEOCITIES drown in the collected pool of saliva issuing forth due to their own nervous breakdowns ... As member after member after member delete their accounts and move to other webspace providers.
That is my dream. Will you accept the challenge and join me in making this dream a reality?
I must ask you a difficult task if you DO wish to take up the cause. When surfing pages and you come across someone residing on GEOCITIES, sign their guestbook.
Yes it's as simple as that. Sign the guestbook and TELL them they have options. Tell them they don't have to put up with the watermarks and the pop-up advertisements that annoy their visitors.
Put a link to this page in the guestbook entries. I'll try to keep up to date with the incidents of GEOCITIES attacks on free speech as well as all the alternative free webspace hosting sites.
First it was Deizha Loup's Lair ... next went The Goth Goose of the Week. Who's the next to fall under the axe of Geocities powers that be?
In the last few months, site after site have been yanked out from under the feet of geocities members. Most without prior notice, all without a chance to change whatever trivial matter geocities found offensive.
The two cases I am intimately aware of involve two individuals whining to geocities because they were being criticized on the pages of the two members I mentioned earlier. In Deizia Loup's case, Tom Fox, a "sports" hunter who stages wolf killing parties for a fee in Canada threatened to sue geocities if her page wasn't taken off. He claimed she was violating copyright laws and was slandering his business.
In Straylight's case, A whiny little brat was offended because she was featured on his "Gothic Goose of the Week" page. She complained to GEOCITIES and they promptly yanked his page.
This was the first anti-geocities page I found after Loupy was booted off Geocities.
She has most of the information on Deizia'a situation, so I'll focus on Straylight's story.
What follows is the progression of correspondence between Straylight and Geoscum ... errr, I mean ... Geocities. Was it just a miscommunication or just Geocities blatant disregard for a citizen?

The 2nd Notice Geocities sent ...
Funny, they didn't even give him 24 hours to change the content. Personally, knowing the way Geocities snowballed DeiziaLoup, I believe they had deleted his account before they even sent the first notice.

You have deleted my html page "antigoth.htm" because it did not fit into
I do not agree with your reaction as there has nothing been which did not
I would appreciate a statement on it very much.
Yours,

That's the whole issue. geocities has not responded to Straylight since the deletion notice.
Others have begun campaigns against Geocities and/or it's business practices. Check them out.
The next few sites deal with the annoyance MANY geocitizens have with Geocities and that blasted WATERMARK.

your guidelines and told me not to upload it again. So I uploaded another
html file with the same name "antigoth.htm" but I removed everything which
could be considered as Defamation/Hate. I just uploaded it to tell people
who want to see my site that the whole pages are down. Now you have removed
my whole account.
suit the guidelines after I uploaded the new "antigoth.htm".

Again, knowing the way Geocities works, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any responses.
Geocities can't keep a good site down. Pity she didn't have everything backed up or she'd have been up and running again sooner than she had. Go to her site and show your support.
This is Linda Porasso's site. The fine people at Geocities has repeatedly harassed her due to the content of her page. They claim she is giving false information about them. I believe they are simply scared and have started to feel the fires that have been lit under their collective ass.
Up and running and better than ever. The so called "Mistress SIN" couldn't kill this site with all the whining she did to the people at Geocities. All she managed to do is get the site on it's own server with it's own DNS.
Just a splash page giving information about the demise of Goth Goose v1.0 and the rebirth of Goth Goose v2.0
An individual who suffered from one of geocities MANY outages. Geocities couldn't be bothered with even trying to reinstall all his files.
One of the prime movers and shakers against the watermark.
The inevidable ribbon campaign
A very well thought out page expressing the author's dissatifaction.
This page is maintained for the sole purpose of educating and keeping the public informed about the unfair
discrimination of geocities against their geocitizens in regards to their free speech rights.
